Having hatched Creme Eggs for 50 years, Cadbury has earned a legion of fans spanning generations. To celebrate the treat’s anniversary and its diverse fans, the confectionary giant is displaying a spectrum of ways to enjoy the chocolate egg.
Its new video showcases “lickers,” “bakers” who add Creme Eggs to their desserts, “dippers,” “eggsperts” of all generations, as well as intimate “sharers” of the snack.
The advertisement, produced by creative communications agency Elvis, is a prelude to Cadbury’s Creme Egg Golden Goobilee program, which involves the company hiding 200 golden eggs for “Eggshibitionists” of the UK to discover between Boxing Day and Easter. Those who end up striking gold could win up to £5,000 (US$6,820).
Elvis’ creative director shared that the team hopes to start 2021 with “some fun,” and since it is “the 50th birthday of a British icon,” it created a campaign honoring playful consumers “as diverse as the eating experience itself.”
The initiative is Cadbury’s version of Willy Wonka’s golden tickets, so if it has been your childhood dream to score one, here’s your closest bet.
