Razer has unveiled ‘Project Hazel’, claiming that it is the “smartest face mask ever.”
The company revealed its own surgical face mask concept at the CES 2021. The N95 medical-grade respirator isn’t just any other face covering. It is backed up by various technology features including special lighting systems capable of adjusting to the environment to ensure facial expressions are easier to see, even in dark places.
The mask is also packed with a mic and amplifier, which uses Razer’s VoiceAmp technology to overcome issues with muffled speech. The mask also comes with Razer Chroma-powered customizable lighting zones to achieve a unique look.
Due to the lighting and mic features, the mask is powered by a rechargeable battery. It is also housed in a case that uses disinfecting UV-light interior to sterilize the mask while charging the battery.
When out of the case, the mask is capable of holding enough if a charge for all-day use.
There is no word if the mask will ever make it to market, but it sure offers a unique approach to slowing the spread of COVID-19.
