Bernie Sanders’ Chic Mittens Made From Recycled Sweaters Spark Praise

Amid the glamorous designer outfits at the inauguration of president Joe Biden, the sight of Bernie Sanders rocking a casual and comfortable accessory has become the talk of the town.
The independent who ran for the Democratic nomination for president wore a pair of sustainably-made mittens that were distinctive and refreshingly practical.
According to BuzzFeed’s Ruby Cramer, the mittens were a gift from Jen Ellis, a teacher from Essex Junction, Vermont. The mittens are made from recycled sweaters and lined with fleece produced from recycled plastic bottles.
The classic brown-and-white mittens have made an appearance for a while now, that it even has a fan Twitter account of its own called @BerniesMittens.
The mittens blew up on social media, with many applauding Sanders for dressing consciously. “This fit and energy [are] why I will always have a place in my heart for Bernie Sanders,” Franklin Leonard tweeted. “Loving @BernieSanders and how authentic he is. Those gloves are total ‘Made in Vermont’ vibes and he puts it on full display for the entire country,” another user tweeted.
