Burger King Thailand has launched an innovative Valentine’s Day menu that seems to be inspired by the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK.
The new offerings, dubbed BLACK and PINK burgers, are currently only available in Thailand, but it hasn’t stopped the items from going viral among K-pop fans. The fast-food chain did not explicitly announce that the menu items are affiliated with the Korean girl group; however, the association is pretty obvious.
The Black Double Grilled Onion Burger features two beef patties, cheese, special sauce, and onions—all packed between a black-colored bun. The Salmon Burger comes with a breaded salmon fillet between a bubblegum pink bun.
While many found the sandwiches to be interesting, others claimed the colors and flavor are quite unappealing.
“That pink one is the nastiest s**t I’ve ever seen, I’m gonna be honest with you,” a Twitter user weighed in on the menu items. A few social media users claimed the burgers looked like those from an episode in SpongeBob SquarePants, where SpongeBob made a profit from selling burgers in “six designer colors.”
The burgers are available to purchase at Burger King Thailand outlets through 28 February.
