Tech giant Apple is launching its iOS 14.5 update this Spring, and it will come with a new string of emojis that celebrate diversity and expressing the way you feel.
Accessible through keyboards, these emojis are digital images used to express emoticons on tech devices like smartphones and tablets.
The emoji update allows users to choose between more skin tone variations for emojis of couples kissing and couple with heart emojis—a relevant push for inclusion of same-sex and interracial couples.
Another update worth highlighting is the emoji of a person with a beard. This icon includes gender options with short and long hair.
Apple has also added helmets to emojis that depict people climbing. Another change includes the syringe emoji—removing blood to make it more useful to depict COVID-19 vaccines.
Other additions include a heart on fire, an exhaling face, a face in the clouds, and a face with spiral eyes.
Apple also revealed that the Memoji will also receive a few upgrades. The updates include more hair options for better representations and better facial recognition so your Memoji can be as expressive enough.
The new hairstyles and accessories include waves, durags, and realistic fades. Memojis can also give virtual hugs, blush as well as a fist bump. Masks have also been added to Memoji’s accessory repertoire to reflect the current pandemic.
