Jack Dorsey Sells His First-Ever Tweet For Close To $3 Million

Jack Dorsey has sold his first-ever tweet for just over US$2.9 million.
The tweet, posted on March 21, 2006, comes in the form of a non-fungible token (NFT) and reads, “just setting up my twttr.” The NFT was sold via auction on a platform called Valuables, which is owned by US-based company Cent. It was purchased for 1630.5825601 ETH, which is worth US$2,915,835.47, according to Cameron Hejazi, the CEO of Cent.
Cent confirmed that the buyer to be Sina Estavi, the CEO of blockchain company Bridge Oracle.
Dorsey tweeted a link to the website where the NFT was listed for sale back on March 6. In another tweet, he added that he would convert the proceeds from the auction into bitcoin and donate them to Give Directly’s Africa Response fund.
