Steve Jobs’ handwritten job application from 1973 has been sold at an auction for £162,000 (US$222,400).
The single-page application is said to be one of the first ones Jobs filed after he dropped out of Reed College in Portland, Oregon. The same job application had earlier been sold in 2018 to a tech entrepreneur, and was put up on auction again this year.
The young Jobs mentioned in his job application that he majored in English literature. He also stated to have knowledge about computer design and “calculator” as some of his skills.
Charterfields provided a brief introduction about Jobs’ application for the job. Apart from highlighting the information filled by Jobs in the application, which included his education and technical skills, the auction house mentioned that the job application was in good condition and legible.
The company also stated that the application had some creasing, along with light staining and an old clear tape at the top of the letter.
The sale, conducted by UK-based valuation firm Charterfields, started on February 24 and was closed on March 24.
