Louis Vuitton’s menswear artistic director Virgil Abloh – also the brain behind popular streetwear label Off-White – is known for pushing boundaries when it comes to design. So it’s hardly any surprise the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2021 menswear collection has its unique pieces.
The collection, playing on ‘Tourist vs Purist’ archetypes, is an autobiographical exploration of Abloh’s African heritage and what it means to be an African American creative director in Europe.
Generating all the buzz, is a ‘Keepall’ bag shaped like an airplane. Available in the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram, the bag is going for a staggering US$39,000. It even features an airplane’s wings, complete with jet engines embossed with signature Louis Vuitton logos.
A Twitter user responded with a listing of an actual airplane costing less – a pre-owned 1968 Cessna 150H Single-Engine Plane going for $32,300 on eBay.
We wonder who’ll be sporting this airplane bag on their next getaway.
You can buy an actual plane for less. pic.twitter.com/Egwh3A7tcp
