Disney Is Building A Cruise Ship With A ‘Star Wars’ Bar & Themed Rooms

While space hotels are still a little ways away, you’ll be able to enjoy a travel experience befitting of your sci-fi dreams sooner than you think, thanks to Disney. The House of Mouse is building its most advanced cruise ship, called the Disney Wish, and a Star Wars lounge with a planetary view is one of its numerous facilities to watch for.

The vessel will be fixed with Disney-themed dining areas that will offer immersive experiences, two movie theaters, and the Disney Cruise Line’s first-ever “attraction at sea,” a merge between a waterslide and a Disney theme park ride.

One dining establishment, called 1923, endeavors to take you back in time with an interior inspired by the Roaring 20s, as well as storyboards and other behind-the-scenes props from when The Walt Disney Studios was founded.

Longtime Star Wars fans will be able to put their feet up at the futuristic Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge. It’s inspired by the “sophisticated side” of the franchise—Dryden Vos’ yacht in Solo: A Star Wars—explained Walt Disney Imagineering senior creative director Danny Handke, via GameSpot. The bar will feature a porthole window with a view that imagines the ship jumping between planets.

The young ones will love the Frozen-themed musical dining experience that places them in the middle of a story in the Kingdom of Arendelle. “Queen Anna and Kristoff are celebrating their engagement and have invited you, their honored Guest, to join them,” Disney teases.

It turns out that the ship is so massive, it will host the Marvel Cinematic Universe too. There’ll be a “cinematic” World of Marvel restaurant, also coupled with a storyline, that immerses diners in the Avengers Technology Showcase.

The cruise ship will make its first expedition in June 2022, and reservations will be available from May 27 this year.
