Before Elon Musk took to the stage to host Saturday Night Live (SNL) last weekend, Tesla decided to take its Cybertruck prototype out for a joyride through the streets of New York City.
The company tweeted a video of its famed Cybertruck driving past Radio City Music Hall, with glaring headlights and top light that were bright enough to blind anyone close by. The electric truck was also spotted driving through Times Square on Friday.
Although it was a great way to get New Yorkers talking, it seems the Cybertruck didn’t abide by New York City traffic rules. According to Futurism, all vehicles in the state of New York are required to have side mirrors, though the Cybertruck had none. Its blinding top lights were also illegal.
When asked about Cybertruck’s expected release schedule, Musk said an update would be coming in Q2 this year.

Update probably in Q2. Cybertruck will be built at Giga Texas, so focus right now is on getting that beast built.
