This summer, Google will be opening the doors to its first-ever retail store in the real world.
Located in Chelsea, New York, the Google Store will be a place where customers can have a first-hand experience the tech firm’s products.
The tech giant said it chose the Big Apple as its first location “as a natural extension of our longtime commitment” after 20 years in the city. Over 11,000 Google employees also call its urban campus in Chelsea home.
Customers will be able to shop a wide range of Google products, ranging from Pixel phones to Fitbit devices, Pixelbooks, and Nest products. If you’re trying to beat the queue, you’ll also be able to shop online and collect your orders in-store.
Similar to Apple stores, the Google store will also have technical experts available to help customers troubleshoot issues, fix cracked screens, or assist with general enquiries. It’ll also be offering workshops, though not much has been revealed yet.
As we’re still (unfortunately) in the middle of a pandemic, COVID-19 sanitation and social distancing measures will be required in-store. The number of customers at any one time will also be limited, so it’s safe to assume there’ll be long queues forming outside the store.
Google has yet to share the store’s official opening date, though the announcement should come soon.
It’s Google in real life. Where helpfulness, possibility and invention come together in the heart of a city that embodies all of those qualities and more.
