It’s been a long while coming, but Spotify has finally announced that it is bringing offline listening to the Apple Watch.
Premium subscribers will now be able to download music and podcasts to their Apple Watches to listen offline. This means they’ll be able to leave their phones at home while out for a jog – no more exercising in silence or holding on to a bulky smartphone.
The new offline feature is similar to Spotify’s desktop and smartphone apps. According to its press release, users can select the three-dot icon next to a podcast or playlist, followed by ‘Download to Apple Watch’. Now, on your daily runs, you’ll be able to stream your favorite tunes directly from your Apple Watch.
Users will be able to control playback directly from their wrist, including pausing or skipping tracks whenever you want. You’ll also be able to control playback from other devices – such as wireless speakers – using Spotify Connect via the Apple Watch.
