Whether you’re a Scientologist or not, if it’s ever proven that aliens exist, you’d want to maintain peace between planets. Oreo is taking a dunk into human and alien diplomacy by launching ‘Offering’ packs to safeguard the world.
This comes after news that the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence will declassify information about “advanced aerial threats” on June 27, potentially unlocking secrets only sci-fi enthusiasts can dream of.
The campaign includes a spooky video where a giant signal is sent to aliens via Oreo-shaped crop circles.
However, maintaining peace is a team effort, so Oreo is giving away free, limited-edition offering packs so you can perform the ritual at home. As the wrapper instructs, you can make an offering by placing the packet “within clear view of the sky.” That’s like serving cookies to Santa, but cosmically more important.
“Whether you are a UFO believer or not, it is undeniable that a special connection forms over earth’s No. 1 cookie and a glass of milk!” explains Oreo Equity senior brand manager Olympia Portale in a statement obtained by The Drum. “With The Oreo Offering, we are ready to greet any lifeforms that might be out there.”
