KFC Opens Yurt-Style Location That Fits Right Into The Desert Of Inner Mongolia

No, this isn’t the Mars Desert Research Station. Located in the Xiangshawan (Whistling Dune Bay) resort of Ordos Prefecture in Inner Mongolia, a finger-lickin’ gem takes visitors’ breaths away with its unique design that blends right into the desert theme of the travel hotspot.
The KFC location here is outfitted in a yurt-style building, and according to Chinese trends news site What’s on Weibo, social media users are in awe of its exterior, designed like the portable homes of a desert. Pictures shared online show visitors flocking—pardon the pun—to the Instagrammable site to pose with the dome-shaped restaurant.
While the KFC has been drawing attention of late, Chinese news outlets report that it opened in January 2020.
Internet users have also jokingly pondered if the restaurant does delivery services via camelback.
A small window is located at the side for visitors to pick up waffles, ice cream, or drinks. Unfortunately, they’ll have to find another oasis for fried chicken. The outlet seems to be a dessert kiosk instead of an actual restaurant, offering only small bites and beverages.
