Bumble, the dating app where women make the first move, is once again giving singles a taste of love during the remote era with
Bumble Brew, its first-ever café. Opening in NYC on July 24, the location aims to be a “safe space for healthy and equitable relationships and connections,
Bloomberg hears from head of brand partnerships Julia Smith.
The café’s interior expectedly mirrors Bumble’s yellow interface, along with honeycomb-like elements. Dreamed up by
FLOAT Design Studio, it houses an 80-seat dining room, patio seats, a cocktail bar, and a private dining room.
When it was first conceptualized in 2019, the Bumble café and wine bar was intended as a place that served only “date-friendly” food for singles meeting each other for the first time. That meant nothing sloppy, like spaghetti or burgers too tall to be eaten gracefully.
But times have changed, and the pandemic has brought new priorities. The establishment, created alongside Delicious Hospitality, is now all about creating a nice short escape for daters perpetually stuck at home.
As such, potentially “banned” foods like spaghetti, burgers, and wild greens with a runny egg will make an appearance at Bumble Brew.
Bumble Brew will be open only for breakfast in the first week. Lunch will be served the next, with a dinner menu becoming available the following week.
