Apple’s next scheduled MacBook Air release is speculated to be set for early 2022, complete with a cutting-edge M2 chip and swathed the same vibrant hues of the latest iMacs.
Their high-powered counterpart, the MacBook Pro, is expected later on this year, and could utilize the M1X chip.
This is all according to Twitter user Dylandkt, an iOS developer whose past leaks have proved to turn out true, cites TechRadar.
The MacBook Pro’s M1X is a newer, faster version of the current M1 chip, with greater processor and graphics core counts. The MacBook Air’s anticipated M2 would therefore be higher up on the spectrum with regards to power and speed, and is said by Dylandkt to be “built on the same foundation the A15 is built on,” referencing the chip the highly-anticipated iPhone 13 might use.
As for the aesthetics of the upcoming MacBook Air, he has also disclosed the possibility they will run in the same color family as the newly released iMacs, which currently boast six bright shades alongside the usual neutral white hue.
Of course, these details haven’t been officially confirmed by Apple itself, especially regarding launch dates and its ultimate final decisions about the new releases. But what we know so far gives us a visual of a range of deliciously colored, ultra-fast MacBooks populating our workstations and cafés to look forward to.
