Apple has announced it will air a new documentary about the 9/11 attacks to commemorate the tragedy’s 20th anniversary.
Created in conjunction with the BBC, 9/11: Inside the President’s War Room will tell the story of the day’s tragic events through the eyes of George W Bush’s presidency.
According to the press release, the documentary is set to be narrated by Jeff Daniels and will focus on the “12 hours after the strike on that momentous day, offering rare and unique insight into the dilemmas of decision-making against the clock, as those involved provide intimate, revealing, and heartfelt details for the first time.”
These exclusive insights include a never-before-heard testimony from former President Bush, alongside former Vice-President Dick Cheney, former National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, and other high-ranking officials involved in the tragedy’s aftermath. It’ll also show 200 never-before-seen photographs, as well as filmed archive, of the day’s events.
Apple has yet to announce a specific release date for the documentary, though it should be out early September.
