While rechargeable batteries benefit both the planet and your wallet, the chargers that come with them aren’t usually items we’d like to put on display. Now, IKEA has released its new LADDA batteries and TJUGO charger,
disguised as a sleek book.
According to Fast Company, the Swedish furniture brand has been producing rechargeable batteries and chargers since 2018, but they’ve always looked similar to standard ones on the market. With its brand-new launch, IKEA has redesigned its rechargeable line to blend in with your home’s aesthetics.
The LADDA batteries now come in a muted blue-green shade, lending themselves to a more fashionable appearance than regular black batteries. Meanwhile, the new TJUGO charger resembles a book, with its outer shell wrapping around its frame just like a book jacket would. You’ll be able to recharge your batteries anywhere in your home, and no one will be the wiser.
With more homeowners taking pride in their unique aesthetics, it’s no wonder IKEA is coming up with sleeker designs for everyday items, such as
‘picture frame’ speakers and
mini air quality sensors.
