That race-car bed you’d been dreaming of as a kid? It’s back, bigger and better and absolutely real. At
V8 Hotel in Stuttgart, Germany, these beds are built for grownups—they’re designed from actual car parts.
A Martini Porsche Boxster, Citroen DS, Cadillac Coupe de Ville, Jaguar XJ2.S, BMW E36, Wrangler Jeep, and 1970s Alfa Romeo are among the full-sized car beds you can test-drive in the hotel’s 26 themed rooms. There’s even a
‘Workshop’ room with a mechanic’s legs sticking out from under the bed, just in case you can’t do with sleeping alone.
Aside from bedding, the rooms are decked out in automotive memorabilia and murals, converting your stay into a road trip of sorts for the car-obsessed.
If you’re in it for the full deluxe experience, the four-story Mercedes Suite will ignite your motors with its personal rooftop terrace, private sauna, living room area with a 47-inch television, and kitchen.
In exchange for bragging rights about having been in a Porsche before, a night at a V8 Hotel themed room starts from about US$200.
