Tesla is shaping up to become the be all and end all of cars, with a Cybertruck that moves like a crab underway, touch-free doors, as well as Superchargers set to be compatible with EVs from most other automakers. Not to mention, a potential chain of restaurants allowing both drivers and automobiles to refuel.
What you probably didn’t ask for and didn’t know you needed was Disney+. Yes, the Disney streaming service is coming to Tesla vehicles too, according to new 2021.24 software release notes outlined by TNW.
Disney+ will join Netflix and YouTube as an entertainment option in Tesla cars. When the update is rolled out, it can be found in the ‘Theater’ tab under the ‘Entertainment’ segment through the dashboard touch screen display.
With all the emphasis on safe driving, it’s worth mentioning that in-car entertainment can only be activated when the vehicle is parked, so worry not about encountering negligent binge-watchers on the road. It won’t even be available when the car’s on Full Self-Driving Mode, a feature that’s not always reliable.
Another exciting addition is a new ‘Car Wash Mode’, which ensures you don’t get a second-hand bath. The feature shuts all windows and locks the charge port, as well as disables windshield wipers, walk-away door locks, sentry mode, and parking sensor sounds. The car will also shift to neutral for automatic car washes with conveyor belts, preventing it from auto-braking if you leave.
More updates are detailed here.
