This week, former US president Donald Trump sent an email to his supporters, asking them to vote for their favorite membership card design. Many have spotted that one of the options contains a misspelling, written as “offical” [sic] instead of “official.”
Insider was the first to break the story, reporting that Trump’s Save America PAC sent out two emails about the membership cards saying: “The card you select will be carried by Patriots all around the Country. They will be a sign of your dedicated support to our movement to SAVE AMERICA, and I’m putting my full trust in you.”
The second email doubled down on the significance of the cards, saying it would be “reserved for President Trump’s STRONGEST supporters.” As for the designs, the email said Trump wanted his supporters to vote, as “they ALWAYS know best!”
One of the designs, however, has drawn flak online, with the eagle on the card bearing a resemblance to Nazi insignia. Each card will include the user’s name and identification number, along with the “SAVE AMERICA” logo.
Will an Official Trump Card actually go into circulation? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Nothing spells official quite like… misspelling ‘official.’ pic.twitter.com/PdAZLgMeKQ
