Comedian Kerwin Frost has teased a sneaker from his upcoming Adidas collaboration, allowing fans a sneak peek of his creations. We know of his spin on the classic Superstar with a quirky puffy look, but it’s hard to say if anyone could’ve predicted what followed it.
Described by Sneaker News as “the most terrifying Adidas Forum collab of all-time,” the reworked sneaker adds to the classic three-stripe branding of an Adidas sneaker; and quite liberally, at that.
A set of eyes that sticks out from, well, the eyelets, stares you down as you take in a nose threaded neatly on the laces and a disproportionately wide set of pristine pearly-whites laid neatly in a cheery pink gum on the front of the shoe, grinning directly at you.
The shoe’s luscious golden locks straight out of a shampoo advertisement cascade down the back, hanging from the collar of the sneaker. It’s not too clear how wearers will be able to prevent themselves from tripping on the hair—if it will be removable—or what is even going on in this shoe at large.
Several users in the comments are left wondering if this is supposed to be a play on a ‘horse shoe’, given the way the sneaker bares its teeth at you and boasts a pristine mane.
“I just want to make things fun again, you know what I mean... just making it fun, wearable,” Frost tells Adidas about his collaborations with the brand. “Change is tough, but not changing is even tougher.”
No further details from either Adidas or Frost, whose comment on the shoe was simply, “And for my next act …” But despite the lack of information we currently have, it’s pretty safe to assume that we’re not going to be able to forget this iconic look easily anytime soon.
