Instead of going crazy on colorways, Adidas has pulled back on all the hues for its latest No-Dye Collection. It’s not only going to tug at the heartstring of design minimalists but also lovers of sustainable knits.
The barebones lineup features three men’s and women’s golfing silhouettes—the adicross ZX PRIMEBLUE, ZG21 Motion, and ZG21 Motion BOA—with uppers kept to the material’s natural colorway. Adidas has intentionally maintained their organic forms to eliminate the water-intensive step of shoe manufacturing: the dyeing process in pre-treatment.

“It’s another area where we are looking for ways to be more sustainable beyond our initiative to help end plastic waste,” the brand shares in a news release. The textile upper of the adicross ZX PRIMEBLUE itself is constructed with at least 50% Parley Ocean Plastic, while a minimum of 50% recycled content has been built into the uppers of the ZG21 Motion and ZG21 Motion BOA.
While post-treatment is currently necessary to retain the shoes’ performance qualities, the sportswear giant describes that just skipping the conventional dyeing step would already attain 60% savings in water and energy on average.

“We’re continually evaluating ways to reduce our environmental impact when it comes to our products,” details Masun Denison, global director of footwear at Adidas Golf. “With this collection, we’re giving golfers another reason beyond just style and performance to feel good about the shoes they’re wearing.”
The No-Dye Collection is now available globally on the Adidas website and app, as well as at participating retail stores.
