If you thought the cube above was partially extended instead of laid out flat, then checkmate. Unintentionally coinciding with
The Queen’s Gambit’s Emmy win for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Mondo has unveiled a
vinyl soundtrack with artwork just as trippy as the hallucinations in the miniseries.
The release, an official collaborative piece with Netflix, comprises nearly 40 tracks of the stirring score by composer Carlos Rafael Rivera. Mondo
describes that the artwork, created by graphic designer
Alan Hynes, “will play games with your mind.” Beth Harmon (played by Anya Taylor-Joy) peeks out of the corner of the jacket, which looks like a 3D chessboard.
Within, you’ll find stills decked in black and white, along with green, a reference to the green pills Beth had been taking ever since she was a little girl.
