The pandemic hadn’t been kind even for Totoro, as the famous Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Tokyo, had faced bleak visitor numbers. At one point in time, there were fears that it would close down, but the assistance of an adoring public turned this around in time.
The downtime was also a period of transformation, not without growing pains, for the museum. Initially banning photography onsite, the mystical attraction has since shared virtual tours of the previously hidden grounds. Now, the museum’s store has opened an online storefront, allowing fans to get their hands on Studio Ghibli memorabilia without having to take the faraway trip out.
According to SoraNews24, Ghibli Museum’s Mamma Aiuto gift store at the top floor is a must-go for anyone who has had the privilege of visiting the site, since it offers exclusive Studio Ghibli souvenirs unavailable elsewhere.

Since its opening, the online store has listed a charming array of tableware, stationery and paper goods, apparel, puzzles, and soft toys. Fancy a tin of Studio Ghibli cookies, anyone?

It’s easy to be spoilt for choice, but the bad news is that the store currently only ships to customers in Japan. However, SoraNews24 notes that fans living elsewhere could still use a forwarding service if their hearts are calling out to them—or maybe it’s another one of Yubaba’s spells—to nab the items.
