With a flurry of lights at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, the new logo for Euro 2024 was revealed by UEFA on October 6.
Alongside this, a video decked in vibrant color was released on social media, highlighting the spirit of unity and inclusivity with the statement “for all generations, all voices and all of us, united by football.” As shown in the short video, the inspiration behind the bright new logo lies within the colors of European flags.
Coupled with the inclusivity shown in the character design throughout the animated video, it’s safe to say that this theme is key in this year’s campaign and games.
This is reinforced by the UEFA’s
statement, where it explains that it’s promoting “a EURO where everyone feels welcome and diversity is celebrated.” After all, it says, “football is a place where everyone should feel at home,” and the brand is out to reiterate that.
Besides these, a sneaky reference to Berlin’s Olympiastadion, where the games will be held, is also hidden in the new design. One fan on Twitter spotted this—the Easter egg hidden in the “O” of the word “Euro.”
“Euro 2024 will be a Euro for all,” declares Philipp Lahm, Euro 2024 tournament director. “We look forward to welcoming fans from across Europe and the world to Germany in the summer of 2024 to celebrate a great football party together. The logo and brand identity for the tournament convey this message perfectly.”
The 51 matches of the Euro 2024 are scheduled to take place across 10 venues in Germany in June and July 2024.
