Tesla Adds Starlink Internet To Supercharger Stations For Drivers To Use

In July, Tesla announced it was opening up its superchargers to other electric vehicles. The company’s founder Elon Musk said that users would just have to indicate which stall they were in, plug in their car, and use the app to determine the amount of electricity needed for a charge.
Now, in addition to charging your eco-friendly vehicle, you’ll be able to use Starlink’s satellite-based internet while at a supercharging station. According to Electrek, users spend an average of half an hour in a stall, and with Tesla’s built-in entertainment apps, such as Netflix, YouTube, and Twitch, drivers can tap into the broadband offering to pass the time.
A Tesla owner posted on Reddit that he had spotted a Starlink antenna atop a supercharger in Lake City, Florida. This could mean that the company is already deploying internet connectivity to its over-3,000 stations around the country.
Within the next two years, Tesla reportedly plans to triple the number of supercharging stations it has in the US, in order to make more room for non-Tesla vehicles.
