FBI Warns Public To Remain Vigilant Against Cyber Attacks During Holidays

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) have released a pre-holiday warning to remind individuals and organizations to remain vigilant against cyber threats during the festive season.
While there aren’t any specific threats at the moment, the agencies issued a reminder that strong, one-time passwords, along with multi-factor authentication, were the best ways of protecting one’s online data from cybercriminals.
According to CNET, hackers have long used the holidays as a prime time for hacks, while people are preoccupied with the bustle and not monitoring their online security. The agencies had released a similar caution in August, just before Labor Day.
“We know that threat actors don’t take holidays,” said CISA Director, Jen Easterly.
“We will continue to provide timely and actionable information to help our industry and government partners stay secure and resilient during the holiday season.”
