Nothing says Christmas like donning an ugly holiday sweater.
Last year, the brains at Microsoft came up with exclusive looks for the festivities, based on the good ol’ MS Paint, Windows 95, and Windows XP.
This year, the company has released yet another ugly outfit, paying homage to the nostalgic game of
Minesweeper. The grid of mines, cleverly laid out in the shape of a Christmas tree, is surrounded by a bright blue backdrop of snowflakes. The bombs adorn the “tree” just like ornaments would.

The sweater’s collar features two dates: 1990, the year the game was first featured in the Windows Entertainment Pack; and 2021, today.
Microsoft will be donating US$100,000 of the proceeds to AbleGamers, a charity supporting those with disabilities through video games.
According to Gizmodo, there is even an Easter egg cheat code of “XYZZY” adorned on the back of the sweater, which would remind every millennial of the hours spent trying to conquer the challenging game.

It wouldn’t be too much of a shock if this sweater gets snapped up in a flash. Retailing for US$74.99, the outerwear is now available on the
Xbox merchandise store.
