Festive-loving, mischievous, filthy animals may be pleased to know that Airbnb is renting out
the McCallister house from
Home Alone for just one night.
Looking almost identical to its appearance in the hit 1990 holiday film, the Winnetka, Illinois, house is decorated to the nines with red-and-green, including delightfully familiar elements such as a candlelit dining room for enjoying a sumptuous meal of mac and cheese in.

Of course, there are also paint cans dangling just above the staircase. And, for better or for worse, the pet tarantula will also be there, because it would not be the McCallister “castle” without it.

The “host” of the home appears to be Buzz, Kevin’s older brother, who states that guests will be able to live by Kevin’s rules for the duration of their dreamlike stay.
“So feel free to eat junk food, watch rubbish on TV, borrow my dad’s aftershave and choose your own adventure with a legendary battle plan as a guide. Just stay out of my room, okay?” he begs.

Interestingly, the stay isn’t going to cost you more than just US$34. However, it’s only for one night, and it’s perhaps going to be a pretty fierce fight when booking opens on December 7 to be the lucky winner. And you’re going to have to make your own way there, if you’re not already in the area.
This exclusive Airbnb experience comes after the release of
Home Sweet Home Alone, the newest installment in the
Home Alone franchise released last month.

To commemorate the first-ever stay at the McCallisters’, Airbnb will be making a donation to Chicago’s La Rabida Children’s Hospital, which is dedicated to patients with disabilities and chronic illness.
