Melania Trump Announces NFTs In First Venture Since Leaving Office

To close off the year, former US first lady Melania Trump has announced her first endeavor since moving out of the White House. And what could be more resonant of the year 2021 than non-fungible tokens?
Her first NFT, entitled Melania’s Vision, is a watercolor piece of her “cobalt blue eyes” by French fashion artist Marc-Antoine Coulon and is accompanied by an audio recording of Trump herself. The artwork “[provides] the collector with an amulet to inspire,” describes the former FLOTUS’ office.

“I am proud to announce my new NFT endeavor, which embodies my passion for the arts, and will support my ongoing commitment to children through my Be Best initiative,” expresses Trump. “Through this new technology-based platform, we will provide children computer science skills, including programming and software development, to thrive after they age out of the foster community.”
The artwork is just one from a collection of NFTs Trump plans to roll out actively and exclusively on her new platform MelaniaTrump.com, powered by conservative social network Parler. It is priced at 1 SOL (currently about US$185 in cryptocurrency).
Part of the sale will help children growing out of the foster care community through “economic empowerment and with expanded access to resources needed to excel in the fields of computer science and technology,” says the press release.
Through the platform, buyers can also purchase Trump’s exclusive digital collectibles with a credit card.
The first NFT, Melania’s Vision, will be up for sale until the end of the year.
