Restaurant For Throuples Opens Its Doors Just For Valentine’s Day

There are so many couples out on Valentine’s Day, perhaps too many. An up-and-coming eatery, however, is throwing one more concept into the dynamic: what about celebrating throuples too?

For one day only on the romantic holiday, the Throuple restaurant, as it is called, will welcome lovers in Shoreditch, London, whose other partner is too often denigrated to being the third-wheeler at cis-dominated eateries.

The restaurant is being opened by LELO, a company known for its sexual wellness toys. The brand hopes to dismiss taboos about polyamory and quell the “outdated” concept about love being made for two.

Here, guests will be served a three-course meal and drinks to commemorate the day of love without fear of being judged.

And yes, the establishment accepts non-monogamous parties of four and five too—just don’t turn up as a couple.

LELO got the idea for Throuple after a survey it conducted revealed that 28% of Brits would consider getting into a polyamorous relationship. 38% of respondents between the ages of 18 and 24 also agreed that opening their relationships would spice up their love lives.

The company is hoping to “create a safe space for people in polyamorous relationships, so they can enjoy a romantic night out with their significant others.”
