Google Pays Homage To Daily Lives Of Women Worldwide In Uplifting Doodle
To commemorate International Women’s Day on March 8, Google’s latest doodle pays tribute to the inspiring daily lives of women around the world.
Highlighting the realities of the post-pandemic age, the slideshow allows viewers to move through several scenes, including a mother caring for her children as she works from home.
It offers a glimpse at women from all walks of life: doctors in an operating theatre, an elderly retiree watering her garden, a fashion designer at work, and even a wildlife photographer.
According to Google, the Doodle was created by Art Director Thoka Maer, whose goal was for everyday women to feel valued for their daily contributions.
“The last couple of years have been hard for everyone, but women especially. The reality of the last couple of years has forced women to shift focus, adjust priorities, and make sacrifices to be there for others who need them,” Maer said.
“I really hope that women feel seen and valued for whatever they’ve been doing and are doing right now. Getting up in the morning and getting through the day,” she added.
