Apple Debuts Mac Studio For Creatives To Get The ‘Studio Of Their Dreams’

At the latest Peek Performance event, Apple presented an all-new Mac Studio and Studio Display, a brand-new desktop setup designed for creatives to build the “studio of their dreams.”
The Mac Studio, which the tech giant calls “a breakthrough in personal computing,” will be powered by the industry’s most powerful chip for a personal computer: the M1 Ultra, which also made its first appearance at the keynote.
This all-new system on a chip (SoC) will enable users to take their creative endeavors to new heights, including rendering incredible 3D environments or playing back 18 streams of ProRes video.
Complemented by the Studio Display, the entire setup will feature a beautiful 27-inch 5K Retina display, 12MP Ultra Wide camera with Center Stage, and a high-fidelity six-speaker sound system with coveted spatial audio.
“Mac Studio ushers in a new era for the desktop with unbelievable performance powered by M1 Max and M1 Ultra, an array of connectivity, and a compact design that puts everything users need within easy reach,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing.
“And Studio Display—with its sunning 5K Retina screen, along with the best combination of camera and audio ever in a desktop display—is in a class of its own,” he added.
For those curious about the Mac Studio’s connectivity, it comes with all the essentials for plugging in: four Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 10GB Ethernet port, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, and a pro audio jack for headphones or speakers.
The Mac Studio will start at US$1,999 with the M1 Max chip, with the M1 Ultra model beginning at a whopping US$3,999.
If you’re willing to shell out, the top-spec version with an M1 Ultra chip, 128GB memory, and 8TB SSD will set you back US$7,999—and that’s without the Studio Display.
For those looking to snag the entire setup, the Studio Display (with a stand) starts at US$1,599. Buyers can opt for a more premium nano-texture glass covering, which will see the price jump top US$1,899.
