Casetify Releases NFT Phone Cases Collectors Can Tote Around For Bragging Rights

While crypto holders have been able to assert ownership of non-fungible tokens via the blockchain, this record isn’t easily observable by the general public. Casetify seems to have a solution that not only makes these receipts known, but it also allows collectors to show off the art everywhere they go: the world’s first verified NFT phone cases.

The phone accessory maker has entered the “phygital” space with its NFT Your Case platform, which enables users to print official NFTs onto real phone cases and call them their own. To start out, it purchased BAYC #3583 from the Bored Ape Yacht Club for 83.4 ETH (about US$229,000 today) and made it the first NFT phone case.

Aside from exclusive art, each case is printed with a QR code that can be scanned to reveal the NFT’s metadata, creator, and more. The accessory is constructed with 65% recycled material and boasts a durability that survives 10-foot drops. In addition, its rear features a “verified-blue” flash-absorbing camera ring to distinguish NFT owners.

To ensure the artworks are carried around by their rightful owners, customers will first have to link up their digital wallets to authenticate the NFTs. Payment can then be completed in Ethereum or US dollars.

“The launch of ‘NFT Your Case’ allows the community to flex their digital artworks right in the palm of their hands while opening the door to endless creative possibilities in the metaverse,” describes the brand’s co-founder Wes Ng.
