Upping the ante of sushi conveyor belts, Nissan has built a tiny car that specializes in safely delivering ramen across countertops.
This idea obviously doesn’t sound good on paper; there’s always the risk of hot broth splashing onto patrons as the vehicle comes to a standstill—but not with this invention.
The amusing model is a small-scale demonstration of the automaker’s e-4ORCE braking system built into the 2023 Ariya electric car, which enables halting without the uncomfortable motion of swinging the driver and passengers forward.
As shown in the accompanying video, the wheeled gadget can speedily send a bowl of noodles across a counter without splashing when it brakes. The special acceleration system relies on two motors to run the car’s all-wheel drive system.
