World’s Skinniest Skyscraper Graces NYC Skylines And Has Apartments For Sale

Most of us have heard of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which stands at an astonishing 2,717 feet off the ground. But how about the world’s skinniest skyscraper?
Not only does such a record actually exist, but it also belongs to the newest landmark gracing Manhattan’s famous skyline at 111 West 57th Street, known as Steinway Tower. Developers say the construction marvel has a height-to-width ratio of 24:1, and compared to the surrounding buildings, it certainly cuts a slender figure.
According to CNN, at 1,428 feet, the Steinway Tower is one of the tallest buildings in the Western Hemisphere, only short of the One World Trade Center and Central Park Tower, both of which reside in New York City.
Designed by SHoP Architects and constructed by JDS Development, Property Markets Group, and Spruce Capital Partners in 2013, the 84-story building’s 60 apartment units are now ready for purchase, with a triplex penthouse overlooking Central Park sitting right at the top.
Of course, as with any luxury building—one located on Billionaires Row, no less—homeowners will not only gain access to one of the most sought-after postal codes in America, but will enjoy a luxury amenity suite that includes a 83-foot lap pool, relaxing outdoor space, and a concierge to attend to their every need.
Robb Report noted that the adjacent building, Steinway Hall, may be more pocket-friendly with its 5,259-square-foot duplex boasting treetop views of Central Park. With three bedrooms, four-and-half baths, and 26-foot vaulted ceilings, it’s not too shabby either!
In any case, prepare to cash in a check ranging from US$7.75 million to US$66 million for a spot in this swanky new building.
