Two new additions have sprung up in LEGO’s gorgeous Botanicals Collection of buildable, artificial plants, one of its selections to instill mindfulness in grownups. As with the entire range, the new sets—an orchid and succulents—are extremely low-maintenance, once they’re planted in your home.
Launching May 1, ahead of Mother’s Day, the new LEGO plants need no watering or sunlight. In a way, they’ll make better gifts for Mom because they’ll never wilt like real bouquets.

Succulents might be known for their endurance, but even the most forgetful plant parents can be assured that this modular version will be relentless in their hands. The colorful, 771-piece arrangement consisting of nine plant types can be displayed together or split apart to stand individually in your home.

The beauty of the orchid will be preserved forevermore with this 608-piece build of six large flowers and two newly-opened blooms, held with poise in an elegant blue fluted vase. Its design stems from a real orchid in the office of the LEGO team.

There are air roots too, which are a nice touch, as soil isn’t normally used for orchids.
“The design of this set was inspired by a real Orchid we had in the office throughout the design process, so we could see how the flower changed through the seasons,” describes Michael Psiaki, Lead Designer at the LEGO Group. “A challenge with this set was creating a cylindrical pot from LEGO elements that would be fun to build but also beautiful to look at.”

“Perfect as a thoughtful gift for a plant lover or for adding the finishing interior design touches, the new sets are designed to provide an immersive building experience for adults that lets creativity bloom,” says LEGO. Each artificial plant is priced at US$49.99.
