Donald Trump’s Truth Social Heads To The Web After Only Being iOS-Exclusive
By Alexa Heah, 23 May 2022
In April, reports emerged that Truth Social, a social media network launched by former US President Donald Trump, was struggling to be “fully operational” by its target date. Not only were users stuck in a snaking waitlist, but downloads had also plummeted, and the app was only available to iOS users.
Now, however, that’s all set to change as the social media platform has announced its own web app that allows users on all devices, including Android, to access its services. The launch comes a week earlier than the scheduled May 31 date.
A notification from the company reads: “TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS: The Truth Social Web App is now available!”
This means non-Apple users can finally access the site, profiles and posts on the platform will now be shareable to other platforms. Previously, as Mashable noted, users had to take screenshots of posts to share on other social media sites, but with the web app, can post links directly.
Will this see even more signups for the Twitter alternative? With news of the latter’s buyout seeing many flock to download Truth Social, the expansion of its app capabilities could certainly give it a much-needed boost.
