Apple’s iPhone 14 Will Apparently Take Over iPhone 15’s Improved Front Camera

Although it hasn’t been all that long since Apple launched the iPhone 13, the internet is already abuzz with rumors surrounding the brand’s forthcoming model.

From leaked iPhone 14 molds to an actual replica of the smartphone, there’s been a siege of insider information on what fans can expect later this year.

Now, new reports have emerged that Apple has switched to a new supplier for its front-facing camera, choosing to go with South Korean LG Innotek—which already supplies parts for the rear cameras—for a higher-end version of the lens.

According to ET News, industry sources said the company had originally planned to incorporate LG Innotek’s front-facing cameras only in the iPhone 15, but recently decided to move it forward to the iPhone 14, which is slated to be released in September.

This could possibly be due to “quality problems” with Apple’s original Chinese supplier, which had cost the brand one-third of the price of the rear-facing cameras.

By switching to the new lens, the technology firm could be looking to upgrade the features of the front-facing camera, with speculation that it may even add an autofocus function to its capabilities. 

With a new-and-improved front-facing camera, Apple users can look forward to taking better, more beautiful selfies—and who wouldn’t want that?
