Roku Moves Streaming Into Backyards With Its First Outdoor TV
By Alexa Heah, 26 May 2022
If you’re a big fan of streaming services, you’d no doubt have heard of Roku, an American firm that offers a variety of digital media players for video streaming.
Now, the brand plans to move away from just the living room or bedroom into the outdoors, with its very first outdoor television in collaboration with Element Electronics.
While the EP400AB55R, part of Element’s Patio Series of television sets, may be a mouthful, its rather affordable price makes it a frontrunner compared to more costly competitors.
The 55-inch 4K UHD setup comes with features specifically for outdoor viewing, so you’ll never have to worry about water, dust, dirt, humidity, or even snow messing with its IP55-rated weather protection.
Additionally, with an anti-glare screen, there’s no need to squint while catching up on your favorite shows while basking in the warmth of the sun. The television is equipped to withstand all four seasons, from temperatures as low as -4°F all the way up to 104°F.
For those who subscribe to several streaming services, the television’s home screen can be personalized to include your favorite channels, with the option of adding on a cable box, Blu-ray player, or gaming console without having to switch inputs.
The Element 55” 4K UHD Partial Sun Outdoor Roku TV can be purchased here for US$1,299.99.
