In the leadup to Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, brands all over the world have joined in on the celebrations, from launching a special-edition Barbie doll to a vibrant tiara, one-off McLaren supercar, and even lighting up Stonehenge.
Now, to commemorate Her Majesty’s 70th year on the throne, McDonald’s UK is offering up 70 sets of fine china, so lucky fans will truly be able to enjoy their burgers like a member of the royal family.
The set includes a china milkshake cup, fries sleeve, and burger holder. UK fans can enter the sweepstakes through the McDonald’s app for dibs on the special-edition packaging.
That’s not all. To make proceedings even grander, the fast-food chain teamed up with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to re-record its jingle, which will be used over the Bank Holiday.
To give the tune a posher twist, its iconic ‘I’m lovin’ it’ line has now turned into ‘One’s lovin’ it’ for the one-off recording.
In addition, as part of its final tribute to the Queen, McDonald’s will be renaming the Quarter Pounder with Cheese burger for the duration of the celebrations, calling it ‘Royale with Cheese’ in a nod to a famed scene in Pulp Fiction.
With all the fanfare surrounding this once-in-a-lifetime event, we’re certainly hoping Queen Elizabeth’s lovin’ it!
