A week into June, and brands all over the world are flying the rainbow flag high for Pride Month. From Pride Chrome browser themes by Google to LEGO’s A To Z typography project, there’s no shortage of interesting, creative, and uplifting initiatives championing inclusivity.
Now, Versace has teamed up with “Goddess of Pop” Cher for ‘Chersace’—a limited-edition Pride collection featuring T-shirts, socks, and a baseball cap with the brand’s iconic Medusa motif reimagined in rainbow colors.
Prices for the capsule range from US$125 to US$3,350, with all its proceeds going towards Gender Spectrum, a charity organization working to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ children and youth.
In a statement, the pop-culture icon revealed she and the fashion house’s chief, Donatella Versace, have been friends “for a lifetime,” and that she felt it was only right for the duo’s first collaboration to center around Pride Month, a cause that meant “so incredibly much.”
Versace concurred with the heartwarming sentiment, saying it had been her dream to work with Cher on a collection, and “it’s finally come true,” with the added benefit of supporting an organization with “such a positive impact,” on the youth.
