Shein Denies Allegations Of ‘Help Me’ Messages Hidden On Clothing Care Labels
Fashion e-retailer Shein has taken the internet by storm with its trendy and cheap clothing, giving fellow fast-fashion behemoths like Zara and H&M a run for their money. However, this climb to popularity has involved a number of less-ethical business practices.
Shein’s contentious reputation was further put to the test recently, when photos and videos of packages with pleas for help written on clothing labels began circulating online.

A TikTok clip that first made its rounds in late May and accumulated 6.5 million likes shows a piece of paper with the words “help me plz” on it. Along with that was “HELP ME” on a mailing label and a written note saying “SOS! SOS! SOS!”
Other reported pleas for help came in the form of a message from someone saying they were suffering dental pain, as well as the word “Help” written on FedEx boxes. A tweet posted by @yuutamybeloved_ also showed a care label with the words “NEED YOUR HELP” printed amid the text.
These incited calls to boycott Shein, prompting the website to dismiss the messages as most likely fake.
