Krispy Kreme Creates Ice Cream Version Of Doughnuts, Now Permanently On Menu
By Nicole Rodrigues, 21 Jun 2022
Thought Krispy Kreme was a one-trick pony? Think again. The release of its new soft-serve ice cream seeks to elevate the doughnut-eating experience.
The Original Glazed Soft Serve Ice Cream, the first item to join the permanent menu since 2019 that isn’t a drink, will be available in 10 cities in the US first before a larger rollout. Made from fresh milk and ingredients from the company’s secret recipe, the chilled treat will make a nice home for itself among the famous doughnuts.
Here’s your chance to be a kid in a candy store, or doughnut store, again as you can order the ice cream in a variety of ways, from cups to cones to milkshakes. Krispy Kreme is also offering an array of toppings including dehydrated glazed doughnuts.
Krispy Kreme had initially tried to launch hard-packed ice cream on a large scale in 2019, which came along with a redesign of the menu. However, the pandemic sidelined the project until now. The only change made was that, instead of hard-packed ice cream, it would be soft serve. Accordingly, this allows for easier service at Krispy Kreme outlets for new recipes to be made.
While one doesn’t think of ice cream when the name Krispy Kreme is mentioned, it’s already hidden in the name.
