The Obamas Have Found A New Home For Their Podcasts
By Nicole Rodrigues, 23 Jun 2022
Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground, has penned a new deal with Amazon’s Audible. The deal comes after the Obamas took their exit from Spotify in April this year.
Audible will currently have first rights to anything produced by Higher Ground Productions, which includes podcasts by both the former President and former First Lady.
Higher Ground has been a platform to elevate the voices of those who may not be heard, shining a light on different societal issues to provoke the listener to think and understand how the other half lives.
For example, the production company is behind a series called Tell Them, I Am, which is a collection of stories from Muslim people around the world about what defines them as individuals within society.
The Obamas’ Higher Ground also has a deal with Netflix involving various television shows and documentaries, including the Academy Award-winning American Factory, which is about a Chinese company that opened a factory in Ohio.
