By Nicole Rodrigues, 24 Jun 2022

It has often been wondered how Marilyn Monroe would have shaped the landscape of current fashion had she been alive today to do so. Her untimely passing meant a great loss not only for the entertainment industry but the fashion world, as well, as she had an impact on it that has been unrivaled.
A fashion magazine has taken that wondering to the next level with a CGI render of her modeling the latest high fashion brands was created. Monroe’s estate, Authentic Brands Group, and Web3 startup company, Amethyst, collaborated on the project. In a series of eight digital images, Monroe is seen dressed in Balmain, Miu Miu, Balenciaga, Thom Browne, and David Koma.
The looks were debuted on the CR Fashion Book China magazine and, after which, would be released as NFTs via Amethyst.
Jim Gibb, the head of Monroe’s estate, said that the partnership with CR was an obvious one as its understanding of fashion would ensure Monroe got not only a modern update but also reenact that trademark spark in her.

Monroe has been making a resurgence in the media as of late, from her new movie Blonde to the fiasco of Kim Kardashian potentially spoiling her iconic 1962 gown.
It’s amazing how after all these years, Monroe still manages to send shockwaves through pop culture. A true supernova bursting in our universe.
