Studio Ghibli Meets Branding As Logos Get Enchanting Reimaginations
By Mikelle Leow, 03 Aug 2022
Don’t you love it when the worlds of Studio Ghibli and ours collide? As fans await the openings of Ghibli Park and the My Neighbor Totoro stage adaptation, they can indulge in the idea of seeing beloved mythical characters on billboards and menus.
Some of your favorite brands have been spirited away into the whimsical realm of Hayao Miyazaki with the help of Vietnamese student and freelance artist Duong Nguyn, who has reimagined famous logos with a Studio Ghibli twist.
In one remix, Spirited Away’s No Face slinks into obscurity, his form mimicking the stripes of the Adidas branding. He also makes a mean Snapchat ghost.
And, as it turns out, Totoro’s ears are a dead ringer for the antenna on the Android robot. Fans might also be bewitched by an overhauled Wendy’s emblem that, by a stroke of magic, now spotlights Kiki, the witch in training.
Take a look at the Totoro-lly adorable Studio Ghibli-inspired logo makeovers below. For more fun projects like this one, be sure to follow Duong Nguyn’s portfolio and Instagram.
