IKEA Curates ‘Office Home Collection’ To Ease Your Return To The Workplace

Soon, commuting to work won’t mean walking from your bed to your seat, and grabbing a snack would come with the expectation of having to make small talk with someone. For many, the transition has already taken place.

To help Canadians cope with the shift back into the workplace, IKEA has put together a selection of items to make offices feel more like home. The ‘Office Home Collection’ rethinks home essentials for use at the office, because after a couple of strange years, we all need a few creature comforts to cling onto somehow.

Items on the list include an armchair for ultimate comfort (it’s like you never left your living room!), fairy lights to illuminate those cold confines, and a gym mat so you won’t have to compromise your home workout routine.

With pets now accustomed to seeing their humans at home all day, and remote work culture having taught corporate to be a little more understanding, IKEA also supposes some offices may have become more open to the idea of taking pets to work and making “every day ‘bring your pet to work day’.” Among the furniture giant’s suggestions is a scratching mat “for your new furry coworkers.”

Shoppers are encouraged to share more ideas to help others move from their cozy home offices to their office homes by using the #IKEAOfficeHome hashtag. The best recommendations will be showcased on IKEA Canada’s social media channels through September 10.
