McDonald’s Wittily Reveals What’s Under Hamburglar’s Hat And Why He Wears One
With his penchant for scarfing down hamburgers and the drive to act on it, the Hamburglar might be one of the most rebellious among McDonald’s mascots. But there’s more sass where that came from, and it’s all hidden under his hat.
As Greatist reported (via Mashed), the burger-stealing crook was first envisioned as an older man with gray hair and a pointy nose. No matter his appearance, though, he’d always wear a hat.
In a new Instagram post, the official McDonald’s account has finally revealed why the Hamburglar never takes off his headwear, at least in public. It turns out the character has gorgeous red hair that’s sometimes cut short and other times cascades down his shirt.
For once, instead of stealing burgers, he’s stealing looks.
All those beautiful tresses would be to the detriment of the thief, who would likely be spotted by someone else from a distance. Not to mention, they’d get in the way of his criminal antics.
In our headcanon, the no-gooder’s luscious red locks will probably provoke the envy of Wendy, who has recently experimented with new spunky hairdos herself. Hiding it all under a hat ensures he steers clear from unwanted trouble.
(He could also embrace his villainous side and leave some red strands at a scene to frame another famous mascot for a hamburger theft, but we’re not here to give him ideas).
